- After cutting your pears into chunks, place all ingredients in a saucepan on the stove over medium low heat.
- Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer until pears have reached your desired level of tenderness.
- Leave the pear chunks whole to eat as a compote, mash them with a potato masher for a chunky pear sauce, or transfer to a blender and puree for a smooth pear sauce.
